Privacy Policy
This policy explains how The Util Kit ("we", "us", "the site") handles information when you visit theutilkit.com. The short version: the tools run in your own browser, and we keep data collection to a minimum.
The tools run in your browser
Every tool on The Util Kit works entirely on your device, in your browser. When you paste or type text into a tool — for example into the character counter or JSON formatter — that content is processed locally and is not sent to, stored on, or seen by our servers. We do not keep a copy of what you enter.
Information we collect
We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not collect names, email addresses, or similar personal details unless you choose to send them to us directly (for example, by emailing us through the contact page).
Like most websites, our hosting provider may automatically process basic technical information — such as your approximate region, browser type, and pages requested — for security and to keep the site running reliably. This is standard server and content-delivery-network activity and is not used to personally identify you.
Cookies and advertising
The site is supported by advertising. We plan to use Google AdSense to display ads. When ads are served, Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies to show and measure ads.
- Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on this site.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites.
- You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings (myadcenter.google.com). You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising via www.aboutads.info.
Depending on where you live, you may see a consent prompt about cookies before personalised ads are shown, in line with local rules. You can decline personalised ads and still use every tool on the site normally.
For more on how Google uses information from sites that use its services, see Google's own policy at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Analytics
If we use analytics to understand general traffic patterns, we will use a privacy-respecting approach that does not build personal profiles of visitors. This section will be updated if that changes.
Data security
Because the tools process your input locally and we don't store what you enter, there is very little personal data for us to hold in the first place. The site is served over a secure (HTTPS) connection.
Children's privacy
The Util Kit is a general-audience utility site and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll change the "last updated" date above. Significant changes will be reflected here on this page.
